RAW APPLE CAKE 
2 c. raw apples, peeled and chopped fine
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or shortening, melted
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Put sugar over the apples. Add butter and egg. Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

TOPPING (optional) :
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon

Sprinkle on top of cake, before baking.
