BACON CUSTARD PIE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 egg yolk
1/8 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. cold water

Put flour, butter, egg yolk, salt, and half of the water in a bowl and knead until mixed. Cover dough and place into refrigerator for 2 hours.

Next, remove dough and fold it over itself three times and then pat out into a buttered pie plate. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

FILLING:

1/4 lb. bacon
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. whipping cream
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Cut bacon in little pieces and put into a pan with remaining water, to blanch, or cook slightly for a minute. Remove, drain and pat dry.

Put bacon in pastry filled pie plate and beat eggs with cream and seasonings. Pour over bacon; bake 35 minutes and remove when done.
