WORLD WAR I CAKE 
1 c. strong coffee
2 c. raisins
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 lg. tbsp. lard (or butter)
2 tsp. each cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Boil first 5 ingredients 2 minutes; cool. Stir in dry ingredients. Put in 9x13 well-greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.
