HOT MILK SPONGE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat together eggs and sugar. Add vanilla. Add half of sifted dry ingredients to mixture. Heat milk and butter to almost boiling. Add to mixture the balance of dry ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees 30 minutes in a greased and floured loaf or tube pan.
