BEEF STEW | |
2 lb. roast 1 celery stock Celery salt to taste Salt & pepper to taste 4-5 med. potatoes 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 lg. onion Garlic powder to taste 1/4 c. parsley 1/2 c. barley 2 lb. mixed vegetables 1 qt. whole tomatoes Put roast into a large 5 quart pan. Fill pan 3/4 full with water then put in onion, celery, garlic powder, celery salt, parsley and salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer for 3 or 4 hours then when meat is falling apart pick through it and take out any fat or bones. Then peel potatoes and cut into small pieces and turn meat mixture to high and bring to a boil, put in barley and let cook 10 minutes, then add potatoes. Let that cook for 10 minutes. Then add mixed vegetables. Cook until done and add the tomato sauce and whole tomatoes. Will serve 8-10. |
