CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE 
3 eggs
1 c. Karo syrup, light or dark
1 pkg. (4 oz.) Baker's German sweet chocolate or 4 sq. Baker's semi- sweet chocolate
1/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. pecan halves
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

In large bowl stir eggs, syrup, chocolate, sugar, butter and vanilla until well blended. Add pecans. Pour into "uncooked" pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until knife put in middle comes out clean.

PIE SHELL:

1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
4 to 5 tbsp. water

Mix flour, salt, Crisco and add water and mix. Don't handle or roll mare than necessary. Key to good pie crust - less it's handled the flakier it will be.
