SWEET POTATOES AND APPLES 
Juice of 1 orange
6 sweet potatoes or yams
6 apples
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. bourbon or brandy (optional)

Parboil potatoes 10 minutes, peel and slice into 1/4 inch slices. Peel and slice apples. Alternate slices in a buttered casserole. Sprinkle with brown sugar and orange juice. Dot over top with butter. Bake at 350 degrees about one hour.
