HONEY SYRUP | |
1 sm. lemon 1 c. sugar 1 c. water 1 tbsp. brandy 1 piece stick cinnamon 2 whole cloves 1 c. honey Remove rind from lemon, including all white portion. Squeeze out 1 1/2 teaspoons juice into a cup. Set aside. Place lemon rind, sugar, water, cinnamon and cloves into heavy saucepan. Bring to boil. Lower heat. Cook 25 minutes. Stir in honey. Strain. Stir in lemon juice and brandy. Pour over cooled fruit cake before wrapping to store. |
