HAM PIE | |
4 tbsp. butter 1/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 c. milk 1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup 1/2 c. frozen green peas 2 c. ham, diced 1 tube biscuits MAKE WHITE SAUCE: Heat butter in skillet, over low heat, until melted. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in milk. Return to heat and continue stirring until small bubbles appear. Add can of soup and blend with sauce. Add green peas and diced ham. Bring contents to slow boil and continue to stir for 5 more minutes. Add more milk, if necessary. Consistency should be like thick gravy. Pour into 8x8 inch or similar pan. Set aside. Then place biscuits on cooking sheet and bake for 5 minutes in 400 degree oven. Remove biscuits and place on top of ham mixture. Return to oven for another 6 to 8 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown. Makes 4-6 servings. |
