POORMAN'S CAKE 
16 oz. pkg. raisins
2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. plus a little more water
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cloves
2 heaping tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. baking soda

Boil raisins and 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Add sugar and shortening to raisins and water; melt. Then add 1 cup plus a little more cold water. Stir. Let mixture cool. Add sifted dry ingredients to cool mixture. Bake in greased and floured bundt pan at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
