PAPAW'S POOR MAN STEW 
5 med. potatoes, cut up
1 can tomato juice
2 lg. onions, cut up
1 c. macaroni
1 lb. hamburger
1 tbsp. shortening
Salt & pepper to taste

In large kettle or pan, cook potatoes, tomato juice, shortening, salt and pepper until done. Fry in skillet hamburger and onions until done. Pour off grease. Add cooked hamburger and onions to potatoes and juice. Add macaroni and cook until macaroni is done. Makes about 3 quarts.
