KOSHER DILL 
1 qt. vinegar
2 qt. water
3/4 c. plain salt

Bring this to boil. Put 1/8 teaspoon alum in each jar. Pack cucumbers, 1 clove garlic, 1-2 heads of dill, 1 hot red pepper or 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper. Pour vinegar mixture in jars and seal. If dill seed is used 1 tablespoon to each quart jar.
