TURTLE CAKE 
1 (14 oz.) bag vanilla caramels
1 c. (5 oz.) (5/8 c.) sweetened condensed milk
1 box German chocolate cake
3/4 c. butter
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
2 c. pecans, chopped

Melt caramels in sweetened milk on low heat. Prepare cake mix. Use only 1/2 the oil called for on box. Add butter. Spread 1/2 the batter in pan (13 x 9 inch). Bake 12-14 minutes. Pour caramel mixture and spread to edges. Sprinkle chips and nuts - spoon rest of batter on top. Bake 35-45 minutes at 350 degrees.
