GRANDMA'S STREUSEL FILLED COFFEE
CAKE
 
BATTER:

1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

STREUSEL:

1/2 c. brown sugar (not granulated)
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix batter and pour half into buttered 8 1/2" x 11" pan. Sprinkle with half of the mixed streusel mix. Add remaining batter and top with remaining streusel. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.
