CRAZY CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. vinegar
3/4 c. salad oil

Sift together first 5 ingredients in ungreased 9x13 pan. Add vanilla, vinegar and salad oil. Pour 2 cups water over all. Blend with fork; do not beat. Bake 35 minutes in 350 degree oven. Cool well.

FROSTING:

FIRST ONE: Put in saucepan 2 1/2 tablespoons flour; gradually blend in 1/2 cup milk. Cook, stirring constantly; cool. Cream 1/2 cup butter with 1/2 cup sugar and dash of salt. Add warm paste and beat with mixer until fluffy. Fold in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and spread on cooled cake.

SECOND ONE: 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. milk 1/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. white syrup

Combine all and boil 3 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat and spread over other frosting.
