CREAMED RICE | |
Place 1 cup medium grain rice in a sauce pan along with: 2 cups water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tbsp butter Bring to a boil, cover tightly and turn heat to low. Simmer over low heat until all of the water is absorbed. Remove from heat. Add: 2 1/2 cups half and half or light cream 3/4 cup sugar 2 tea. vanilla 1/8 tea, freshly grated nutmeg Return to heat and bring to a full boil. Remove from heat and cover. Let sit for 20-30 minutes (covered). Serve. May also be served cold. Submitted by: Linda C. Flory |
