APPLE PIZZA PIE
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 c. ice water
1/2 c. powdered non-dairy "cream"
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. butter
6 c. apples, pared, sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Add cheese. Sprinkle water over mixture gradually. Shape into ball. Roll pastry into a 15 inch circle on floured surface. Place on a round pizza pan. Turn up edge. You can also use a large cookie sheet. Combine dairy creamer, sugars, salt, flour and spices. Sprinkle 1/2 of mixture over pastry. Cut butter into remaining half until crumbly. Arrange apple slices, overlapping them in circles on crust. Sprinkle with lemon juice and remaining crumbs. Bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Lower heat if it browns too quickly. Serve warm. Serves 12.
