HOT RISE BISCUITS 
2 c. sifted self-rise flour
1/4 c. Crisco
3/4 c. milk or 1 c. (less 2 tbsp.) buttermilk

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cut shortening into flour until coarse meal. Add milk and mix with fork. Turn dough and flour board; knead. Roll out and cut to size needed. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
