1 1/2 qt. milk
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 c. sugar
6 egg yolks
6 tbsp. corn starch
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Vanilla wafers
Bananas

Mix 1 quart milk, sugar and butter. Heat until hot. Mix cornstarch with rest of milk until smooth. Beat egg yolks, add to cornstarch. Mix. Then add vanilla. Add this to hot milk mixture and bring to a boil. Let cool.

When cool, layer vanilla wafers - bananas - pudding - repeat until all pudding mix is used. Top with meringue or Cool Whip.
