RAISIN OATMEAL DROPS 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 c. golden or brown raisins

Cook raisins 5 minutes to plump. Drain.

Cream shortening and brown sugar thoroughly. Blend in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour, cinnamon, salt and baking powder. Stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Add oats, nuts and raisins.

Drop by teaspoons on cookie sheet (greased). May be pressed a little to flatten with glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes in 350 degree oven. About 4 dozen cookies.
