OLD FASHIONED GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon, cloves and ginger
Additional sugar

In mixing bowl cream butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Stir together dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture; mix well. Chill the dough.

Roll into 1 1/4-inch balls and dip into sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until set and surface cracks. Cool on wire racks. Yield: about 4 dozen cookies.
