BISCOCHITOS 
2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. anise seed
6 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Sm. glass sweet wine or brandy
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and anise; cream further. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix with sugar mixture. Add wine or brandy and enough water to hold together.

Roll out on floured board to about 1/4-inch thick and cut into fancy shapes. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
