MEAT PIES (PORK) | |
4 lbs. ground pork 1 qt. boiling water 3 lg. onions, chopped fine 3 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. sage or poultry seasoning 1/2 tsp. pepper In a large kettle mix the ground pork and boiling water well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Simmer slowly for 3 hours. Let stand overnight in a cool place. Next morning, remove some of the fat that has congealed. Heat to lukewarm before putting in unbaked pie crust. Bake pie at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Pies may be made well before the holidays, as they freeze well. When ready to use, partially thaw and reheat. Serve warm. |
