BORSCHT 
1 1/2 lbs. pork meat
1 med. onion
2 tbsp. vinegar
5 med. beets (stems and leaves)
1 tbsp. salt
1 c. milk

Peel and grate the beets. Wash and cut stems and leaves. Put cut beets into small pot and cover with water; let boil for 5 minutes. Save water. Put meat, beets, vinegar and onions into large soup pot; cover with water and cook about 2 hours. Add beet juice.

Take a heaping tablespoon of flour; mix with cold water and slowly add about a cup of soup. Let that cook about 5 minutes. Add to soup; cook a little longer (15-30 minutes). Take small amount of soup and add 1 cup of milk slowly; stir. Add to soup; cook for 1/2 an hour. This is a family recipe - Ukrainian.
