1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together flour, baking soda, spices, and salt. Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Add egg and beat until light and fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredients and applesauce. Add raisins. Turn into prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes. Cut into 24 squares.
