CHOCOLATE CRISPIES 
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts or pecans

Melt chocolate in double boiler. Remove from heat and add melted butter, sugar, flour and salt. Stir and add well-beaten eggs. Flavor with vanilla. Beat again. Spread with spatula on a greased baking sheet, having the mixture spread extremely thin. Sprinkle thickly with nuts. Bake in hot oven, 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Cut into shapes or squares while warm, working fast. They will be crisp, delicious and especially good with tea, coffee, chocolate or ice cream. Yield: about 30 cookies.
