CREAMY PRALINES 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. white corn syrup
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
2 tbsp. butter
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, baking soda, milk and syrup in saucepan (3 quart size). Place on medium heat and cook until 240 degrees or a soft ball forms in cold water. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla, pecans. Beat until it loses its shine and is thick enough to drop by teaspoonful on wax paper. Makes about 24-30 pralines.
