CREAMY WALNUT PRALINES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. light corn syrup
1 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine first 6 ingredients in a 4 quart saucepan. Cook until 234 degrees on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Beat with wooden spoon until thickens. Add 1 1/2 cups large walnut pieces. Continue beating until thick and creamy. Add 1 teaspoon hot water and drop quickly onto wax paper.
