DIVINITY CANDY 
3 egg whites
3 c. sugar
1 c. nuts, chopped
3/4 c. Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, syrup and water. Cook until syrup will spin a thread from spoon. Beat egg whites until stiff. Pour syrup over egg whites and beat until mixture starts to thicken. Add nuts and vanilla. Beat until mixture will hold shape when dropped from spoon on waxed paper.

(NOTE: This candy turns out best on cold day.)
