MARASCHINO CHERRY CAKE | |
2 1/4 c. soft as silk cake flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 1/4 c. maraschino cherry juice from 5 oz. bottle 16 maraschino cherries, cut in 8ths 1/2 c. milk 4 egg whites, unbeaten 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Sift together cake flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Then add shortening, cherry juice, cherries and milk. Beat mixture for 2 minutes. Then add egg whites. Beat 2 more minutes. Then fold in walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
