MEAT LOAF IN A LOAF 
1 loaf French bread
1 tall can evaporated milk
1 sm. onion, minced
1 sm. green pepper (seeded and chopped)
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. MSG (optional)

Cut a thin slice from top of bread. Scoop out inside of loaf. Measure 2 cups of crumbs; soak in milk for 10 minutes. Add all other ingredients and mix well.

Fill bread case and pack down as for meat loaf. Put top on and put on slightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake 1 hour 15 minutes at 350 degrees. When done slice as bread. This is good cold as well as hot.
