APPLE DRESSING & PORK CHOPS | |
4 pork chops, 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick 1 c. coarse dry bread crumbs 3/4 c. chopped apples 3 tbsp. chopped raisins 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. minced onion Dash of pepper Dash of sage 2 tbsp. melted butter Paprika Cut a pocket in each chop. Combine remaining ingredients; moisten slightly with water. Fill pockets loosely with stuffing; secure openings with toothpick. Flour chops. Brown well in a small amount o hot fat. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika. Add 1/4 cup of water. Cover skillet, simmer for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until very tender. Add water in small amounts during cooking as necessary. Turn chops once during cooking. Yield: 4 servings. |
