CHOCOLATE FILLED SNOWBALLS 
1 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour, sifted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 pkg. Hershey's chocolate kisses
3/4 c. confectioners' sugar

Beat sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, then flour. Beat well. Add nuts and stir with a wooden spoon. Chill dough overnight. Shape chilled dough around chocolate kiss using about 1 tablespoon dough for each kiss. Then roll dough by hand to make a round ball. Bake in 375 degree oven on ungreased cookie sheet for 12 minutes or until set but not brown. Remove from oven and roll in confectioners' sugar while still warm. Makes 3 dozen.
