PEANUT BUTTER CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. smooth peanut butter
2 eggs
3/4 c. milk

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cream shortening with 1 cup brown sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add peanut butter and mix. Beat eggs until light and beat in remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Bake in greased 9x13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Sm. amount milk

Mix and spread on cool cake.
