BLONDIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. plain flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts (opt.)

Melt butter, add sugar; cool. Add egg and other ingredients and spread in baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cut while warm.
