NEVER FAIL PIE MERINGUE 
1 tbsp. cornstarch
6 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. water
Pinch salt
3 egg whites

Combine cornstarch, sugar, water and salt. Mix together and cook until thick and clear. Cool slightly. Beat egg whites frothy. Slowly pour cooked mixture over whites while beating. Beat until some peaks. (If overbeaten, it will appear "grainy" but will not affect properties of meringue.) Will stand up high and will not stick to knife while cutting nor will ever "weep". Spread on pie and brown at 325 degrees.
