BEST EVER SUGAR COOKIES | |
1/2 c. granulated sugar 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. salad oil 1 egg, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 c. flour, sifted 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/8 tsp. salt Cream together the sugars and butter. Combine with remaining ingredients and mix well. Roll into balls about the size of small walnuts. Place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Press with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. (You might have to wet the glass first to get the sugar to stick.) Sprinkle sugar generously on top. (I use red sugar.) Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Watch carefully. They don't brown very much on top, so you can take a spatula and check the bottom of the cookies. When they are brown on the bottom, they're done. |
