POPPY SEED COFFEE CAKE 
1/3 c. poppy seeds
1 c. sour milk
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 lg. eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

SUGAR MIXTURE:

1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine poppy seeds and sour milk and soak overnight. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add vanilla to poppy seed mixture. Add sifted ingredients and poppy seed mixture to butter, sugar and egg mixture. Turn half of batter into a well greased tube or bundt pan.

Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over batter in pan. Top with remaining batter. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and sprinkle powdered sugar or light glaze.
