SQUASH BREAD | |
6 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 tbsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. cloves 2 c. brown sugar 3 c. mashed cooked squash 1 c. salad oil 4 eggs 1 c. chopped walnuts In large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, soda, cinnamon and cloves. In another bowl, beat brown sugar, squash, oil, eggs. Add to flour mixture and stir with spoon just until flour is moistened. Batter will be slightly stiff and lumpy. Spread in 2 greased and floured loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pans. |
