BLACKBERRY CAKE 
2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. clove
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. blackberries
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together flour, spices, soda, and baking powder. Add to egg mixture. Mix well. Add blackberries, then the nuts. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour. Cool. You may sift powdered sugar on top after cake cools.
