BLACKBERRY JAM CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. allspice
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. blackberry jam
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. walnuts or pecans
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Cream butter, sugar and add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition until no egg is seen. Add vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients and add jam, nuts and buttermilk. Bake in 3 oiled and floured pans or 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until done.
