1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 c. pecans, chopped 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips In top of double boiler, melt caramels and 1/3 cup of condensed milk (kept warm and set aside). In large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, butter, and the remaining condensed milk and pecans. Beat at high speed until well blended. Press half of dough into bottom of greased and floured 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over partially baked dough. Spread warm caramel mixture (that was set aside) over chocolate chips. Crumble remaining dough on top. Continue baking for 15 minutes or until sides pull away from the side of the pan, DO NOT OVERBAKE! Note: Quick and Fantastic! |
