CASHEW NUT CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. browned ground beef 1 (8 oz.) pkg. noodles 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup 1 c. milk 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained 3/4 c. sliced pimento-stuffed olives 1 (8 oz.) pkg. American cheese, cut into pieces 1/2 c. chow mein noodles 1/2 c. cashew nuts Cook noodles until tender; drain and place in a large bowl. Combine soup and milk; add to cooked noodles. Stir in browned beef (salted to taste), mushrooms, olives and cheese. Spoon mixture into lightly greased 2 quart casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Stir in chow mein noodles and cashew nuts; bake 20 minutes longer. Serve hot. NOTE: The cashew nuts are essential to this recipe. |
