1 1/2 sticks butter 1 c. sugar 1 egg 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. almond flavoring 1/2 c. chopped pecans (if desired) Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add 1 egg; beat thoroughly. Add flour, level with baking soda and cream of tartar, mix well. Add almond flavoring and chopped nuts. Put in a roll wrapped in wax paper. Let stand in ice box overnight. Cut thin and bake at 350 degrees. |
