POPCORN BALLS 
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1/3 c. water
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
3 qts. popped corn

Combine sugar, salt, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan; cook until mixture is brittle when tested in cold water. Add vanilla and butter. Pour in a fine stream over popcorn, tossing lightly with a large fork to coat evenly. Grease fingertips; shape into balls, pressing popcorn together very lightly. I add about 2 cups nuts; raw peanuts and pecans mixed into the mixture and cook until the mixture is brittle.
