LILI'S CONCH CHOWDER 
1 lb. fresh conch
1 med. onion, chopped fine
2 cloves garlic, crushed
3-4 bacon strips
1 bag frozen vegetables mixed
2 med. potatoes, cubed
1 can tomato paste
Pinch basil, dried
4 c. water
Dash of black pepper

Pound the devil out of the Conch!!! Make sure it is soft and pliable to cut into bite size pieces. Brown in the soup pot with the garlic, crushed, and the onion finely chopped, along with the bacon cut into small pieces. This should take about 30 minutes. Add the tomato paste along with 4 cups of water, bring to hard boil and add the vegetables. Cook on simmer for about 2 hours slowly with lid on.

A drop of sherry is optional just before you turn it off the stove.
