CHICKEN WITH YELLOW RICE 
1 fryer, cut up, remove as much fat as possible
Oil to brown
1 c. uncooked white rice
2 1/2 c. boiling water
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper
1 tsp. turmeric
Curry powder, if desired

Brown chicken lightly. Put in 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle rice over and around chickens. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chicken. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
