1 c. shortening (1/2 Crisco, 1/2 butter)
1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. almond
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
Red and green food coloring

Make the dough and add red coloring to 1/2 and keep other 1/2 white. Make a SMALL ball green for bows. Take a small piece of red dough and roll it into a long "string", do the same with the white. Roll together and shape into a candy cane. With a small amount of the green dough, make a bow shape and put on candy cane. I've also made wreaths.
