APPLE DUMPLING 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
5 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. milk
4 apples
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
2-3 c. hot water

Mix flour, salt, baking powder and butter like pie crust. Add milk and mix. Roll out crust into a large circle. Cut in fourths.

Peel and core the apples. Place one apple in the center of each fourth. Put 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon butter and a little cinnamon in center of each apple. Fold dough around apples to form dumpling. Place in 9 inch square baking pan.

Mix sauce of sugar, butter and hot water. Dumplings should be half covered with mixture. Bake 350 for 60 minutes until brown.
