DEVILS FOOD CAKE WITH CARAMEL
ICING
 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten into mix

1 stick butter

3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. Wesson oil
1 c. boiling water

Let come to a good hard bubble. Pour over ingredients in mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed 3 or 4 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

ICING:

2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 stick butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk

Put on low heat, stir until dissolved. Turn up heat and cook until it bubbles hard all over. Cook 1 1/2 minutes. Beat. Spread on cake.
